MANDURAH’S Bar Therapy is serving up an Instagram-worthy sweet and savoury treat that can be held in one hand while chugging a beer in the other.
Bar Therapy owner Jiah Minifie said he thinks he’s created WA’s first mac and cheese in a waffle cone.
“When we first started to create our bar snack menu we wanted to have fun snack type food that was quirky and people hadn’t experienced before,” he said.
“The Mac and cheese in a waffle cone is something to complement people’s drinks.”
However, the “cheat day” meal would not be your traditional macaroni and cheese, according to Mr Minifie.
“We marinate chicken thighs in Cajun (spices) for over 24 hours and then we make a secret cheese sauce that binds it all together with the macaroni,” he said.
“We then top the macaroni and cheese in the cones with spring onions, tomato and bacon chips on the side”.
Mr Minifie said his initial idea was to create something salty, sweet and spicy.
“The bar snack comes with two cones so it’s something you could share,” he said.
