VISITORS and residents alike will be able to take home some of the flavours of Mandurah during the 2017 Crab Fest weekend.

Crab Fest has a long history of offering unique experiences and tastes, which have inspired a collaborative cookbook called The Fish Trap.

This is the Crab Fest’s first ever cook book, and it includes recipes from some of the town’s top chefs and restaurants.

There’s also a step-by-step guide on how to prepare blue manna crabs for cooking.

Mayor Marina Vergone said the Crab Fest weekend and The Fish Trap cookbook are a celebration of local talent, produce and flavours, in particular the popular blue manna crabs.

“Crab Fest is a fantastic opportunity to sample great local seafood and regional produce, and the new cookbook will help keep the food focus alive long after Mandurah’s biggest weekend,” Mayor Vergone said.

The Fish Trap cookbook will be available to purchase at a custom-made booth at the festival for $20 with part proceeds donated to Mandurah Foodbank.

Following the Crab Fest, The Fish Trap will be for sale at a number of local businesses featured in the book.
