Pinjarra’s Brady Young-Steedman (19), a junior chef at Co-op Dining, and teammate Hayden Bilton (18), of Greenfields and a junior chef at the Redmanna Restaurant in Mandurah, battled it out against the country’s eight best junior chef teams and won silver medals for their entree, main and dessert course dishes.
“We didn’t win but we are very happy with our performance,’’ Young-Steedman said.
“I think all the finalists this year were incredibly talented so it was never going to be easy.

The winning team was Amanda Poulton (24), a commis pastry chef at the Hyatt Hotel, Canberra, and Georgia Harrison (22) a sous chef at the National Press Club.
