Mandurah Storm Rugby League club win national Local Sports Star Award

MANDURAH Storm Rugby League club won a national Local Sports Star award.

After winning the State title in the Young Sporting Spirit Team category, the Mandurah team went on to take out the national title.

The Local Sports Star Awards are a Community News initiative to recognise and celebrate exceptional talents of our sporting community.

Editorial director Ken Burrowes presented the team with their trophy, prizes and a $1000 cheque on Friday.

Mandurah Storm assistant manager Danielle Driffill said the team had been together since the boys were 10 and 11 years old.

“We’ve been through so much together as a team and family unit,” she said.

“They are great boys, leaders and role models.”
