BELLA Burgemeister is not only an author but a motivational speaker with a passion for creating positive change.

She is just 11 years old.

The lockers provide homeless people with a place to store their belongings, and an agreed contract is created to support the individual to make desired changes in their life and circumstances.

Bella presented her idea to the City of Bunbury, which supported the project and 30 lockers have been proposed with funding from the council and public sponsorship.

Bella also engaged the support of AccordWest to manage the use of the lockers.

She successfully pitched her ideas at Bunbury Neighbourhood Soup to gain funding for the production of her book and has become an accomplished public speaker, delivering presentations at several public events.

Bella will speak in Mandurah at the next meeting of PeelConnect at Make Place on Sunday, May 21 at 2pm.
