“It’s also good to give back.

“Halo is a good place to volunteer, the people are lovely here.”

Ms Keenan does anything that needs to be done.

“I’m the linen lady – I fold linen and bag them,” she said.

“I do anything they want me to do.”

Ms Keenan has worked at the front desk, tagged clothes, helped at fundraising events and at the soup kitchen.

She works a couple of days a week usually, but comes in when needed.

Residents are encouraged to nominate a volunteer in the WA Volunteer of the year Awards. Head to the awards volunteeringwa.org.au before March 9 to nominate a volunteer in your community.
