The awards encourage, reward and promote the positive achievements of young West Australians under 29 years of age.

Mr Rogers is an urban planner who is passionate about using design and new technologies to change the way cities are created.

His goal is to communicate the value and theories of urban planning to a broad demographic, particularly highlighting issues of sustainability, making them accessible and relevant to those not involved in the city making profession.

He was the 2014 PIA Planner of the Year.

The winners will be announced at an awards gala presentation dinner in Perth on May 13.
