Accolades for top quality volunteer

The Falcon resident was recognised during National Volunteer Week (May 12 to 18).

Ms Raymond (30) has volunteered with Camp Quality for ten years and is now a Camp Leader. She plans specialised activities and coordinates other volunteers at Camp Quality’s resilience-building camps for children and their families living with cancer across WA.

‘Cherie is one of the most positive people you could meet,’ Camp Quality’s volunteer advisor Tegan Davies said.

‘She lives and breathes Camp Quality’s values of optimism, integrity and celebrating life.

‘Her positivity is infectious and she particularly loves taking new volunteers to their first ever camp.

‘After a decade of helping kids with cancer, we thought this award was well-deserved.’

Ms Raymond said volunteering was lots of fun.

‘I have met amazing and inspirational kids and parents, had the opportunity to plan and run incredible events, participate in fun activities and meet other great volunteers,’ she said.

Camp Quality is the children’s family cancer charity.
