Angry Templeman attacks budget of ‘broken promises’

Mr Templeman said WA Premier Colin Barnett and Treasurer Troy Buswell’s ‘budget of broken promises’ revealed West Australians would pay more in taxes and charges while the State plunged into soaring levels of record debt. He said the cost of the interest bill alone would approach $1 billion a year.

‘This is the budget of Barnett’s broken promises that will hurt families for years,’ he said.

‘The debt burden will soar to $9900 for every man, woman and child in WA by 2017.

‘And despite all the pain of increased taxes and charges and a surge in debt, the State Government will only make a tiny down payment on its delayed Airport Rail and MAX Light Rail projects.’
