Vegan protester accused of stealing $1500 calf

ANIMAL activist James Darren Warden has pleaded not guilty to stealing a Fresian calf worth $1500, when he appeared in Mandurah Magistrates Court today.

Mr Warden was accused of stealing the calf from Partridge W S & Sons in Brunswick Junction on October 23.

Mr Warden also pleaded not guilty to stealing a dead piglet from GD Pork in West Pinjarra on September 9 and two other stealing charges.

He pleaded guilty to three trespass charges at farms in Nambeelup, Hopeland and West Pinjarra.

Vegan protestor Katrina Sobianina pleaded not guilty to stealing a dead piglet from Westpork in West Pinjarra on September 9 and another stealing charge.

She pleaded guilty to trespassing on Westpork in Hopeland on August 31.

Miss Sobianina applied to have her curfew lifted, but Magistrate Ann Longden refused because Miss Sobianina is accused of committing offences at night.

A trial allocation date was listed for both Mr Warden and Miss Sobianina on July 5.
