MAPTO chairman Bernie Worthington said Ms Kane was the natural choice to step up to the role during the caretaker period.

“She has been MAPTO’s business development manager since July 2016 and knows the region, its operators and the tourism industry extremely well,” he said.

“During her time with us, Anita has helped many tourism businesses grow and develop to become export ready and helped greatly in marketing them and our region to the world.

“The Board and I are confident she will do an excellent job during this interim period.”

Ms Kane has more than 20 years of experience in the tourism industry in the UK and Australia. As well as tourism business development, she has expertise in tourism marketing and sales and is well respected in the WA tourism industry.
