Appeal for witnesses: car vs bicycle accident on Mandurah Road

Ms Guilfoyle was riding her bike to work on Mandurah Road near the Gordon Road traffic lights at 7.40am on Wednesday, September 9.

Police want more witnesses to the accident, which landed Ms Guilfoyle in the trauma unit at Royal Perth hospital, to come forward.

Ms Guilfoyle has broken ribs, a collapsed lung and fractured fingers as a result of the accident.

“I’m still off work; I had two weeks sick leave but from Wednesday I’m on unpaid leave,” she said.

“I have a 15-year-old who I am unable to drive around.”

Despite her extensive injuries, Ms Guilfoyle will have to return to work after this week for financial reasons.

“I just want to find anybody who witnessed (the accident),” she said.

“Plenty of people saw me on the road but none of them saw it when it happened.”

Ms Guilfoyle would also like to return blankets to the people who stopped to care for her and thank them.
