Arrest made following Mandurah carjacking

Mandurah Detectives have charged two men following an alleged carjacking in Mandurah yesterday.

About 6.30pm, a 51-year-old female victim got into her car on Mandurah Terrace when she was approached by two men who got in.

Police claim one of the men threatened to injure the victim if she didn’t drive the car with them inside.

While the car being driven, the men rummaged through the victim’s belongings.

They made her stop at an address on Ormsby Terrace, forcing her out of the car and taking off with it.

Police attended and the victim’s car was found the next day.

Investigations led to the identification of the two men involved. Both men were located and arrested.

A 38-year-old man with no address has been charged with; deprivation of liberty, aggravated robbery, stealing a motor vehicle and possession of a prohibited weapon.

He will appear in Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A 39-year-old man from Mandurah is assisting police with the investigation.
