Austin Cove Baptist College student wins heritage art contest

AUSTIN Cove Baptist College year 3 student Elexi Waldron has won a family ticket for a dolphin and canal cruise, courtesy of Mandurah Cruises, for her entry in the junior primary category of the Peel Heritage Art Contest.

The annual competition invited primary school students in the Peel region to illustrate their local heritage, built and/or natural, to encourage them to recognise its value for the future.

It was the seventh year the competition has run and 64 entries were submitted.

Judge and art teacher Michael McGhie said it was a very tough decision given the high quality of the entries.

The senior primary school winner was Halls Head Primary School student Daisy Lee.
