Board members sought for Pat Thomas House

PAT Thomas House Inc is seeking applications for three voluntary board of management members.

A number of board members for the women’s refuge have become unavailable and another is on leave until the annual general meeting in October.

Three members are sought for the remainder of the term.

Chairman Jill Mather said the position required people to prepare for and attend monthly board meetings, sit on specialised committees as required and support the ethos and visions of Pat Thomas House in the community.

The board is responsible for the strategic direction of PTH and all its services as well as legal and financial accountability.

PTH provides crisis accommodation at the refuge for women and families fleeing family and domestic violence and at the Estelle Anne Shelter, outreach support and group programs, Peel Advocacy and Support for those facing the legal system, Womenzlink early intervention programs, child advocacy ands counselling.

Mrs Mather said the board was particularly looking for people with skills in industrial relations, PR, marketing and human resources.

Board members are required to hold a recent National Police Record Check.”
