Mr Cowper said the Ravenswood Hotel and houseboat foreshores on the Murray were among the most popular destinations in the Peel region, for both day and overnight visitors by boat.
“Yet the totally inadequate berthing facilities in this area have not only fallen into serious disrepair, they are now in a dangerous state,” he said.
Mr Cowper said he would urge Transport Minister Dean Nalder and Tourism Minister Kim Hames to ensure adequate funding was allocated from the current round of Boating Infrastructure funding for a major upgrade of the Murray foreshore adjacent to the Ravenswood Hotel.
“New jetties would not only dramatically improve public and boating access to facilities in this area, they would also make it safer for boating,” he said.
