MANDURAH dog lovers are calling for an enclosed dog park.

Angie Brown said there had been many dog attacks lately.

“We need to have enclosed dog parks so theses dog can be socialised to stop this,” she said.

There are several enclosed dog parks in Rockingham and the metropolitan area.

A Changeorg petition for an off leash, fully fenced dog park in Mandurah last year received 640 supporters.

City of Mandurah chief executive Mark Newman said council did not currently have any enclosed dog parks.

“This is, however, something that is definitely on our radar and a number of potential locations have been identified,” he said.

“Before moving forward we will have to go through a process of public consultation.

“It is important to note that the City allows responsible dog exercise off-lead on over 17kms of coastline, as well as 26 reserves throughout Mandurah.
