COMMUNICATION issues in rural areas of Peel Region will be examined according to member for Canning Andrew Hastie.

Mr Hastie has welcomed the announcement of the 2018 Regional Telecommunications Review.

“I’ve spoken to many residents from across the Peel Region about the telecommunications issues they face,” Mr Hastie said.

“My office frequently assists people with telecommunications issues.

“People want to see better mobile coverage in our region and this review is a great opportunity to voice our concerns, influence debate and have a positive impact on the outcome.”

The Committee will soon call for submissions and will then undertake public consultations in regional and rural areas later in the year.

Mr Hastie encouraged all rural residents of the Peel Region to participate.

“Especially those who are experiencing poor coverage,” he said.

“The review will look at ways the government can improve telecommunication services in our local community.

“I will be following the review closely, and fighting to make sure our region gets the telecommunication services it needs.”
