Man charged after car crash at Mandurah Police Station this morning

A 40-year-old man has been charged with trespassing, criminal damage and reckless driving after a car crash at Mandurah Police Station this morning.

Police claim a Ford sedan was driven into the station compound on Pinjarra Road at 5.30am.

When police officers saw the vehicle in the compound, they allege the driver tried to exit and crashed through the security gate as it closed.

The gate was damaged and police claim the man drove on the front lawn area and down the foot path to get away.

A short time later police found the vehicle.

The man is due to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court today.
