Mandurah deputy mayor Caroline Knight said it was wonderful when the community came together “and what better way to bring in the New Year than to head down to the eastern foreshore”.

There will be two firework displays, the first at 9pm for families and a grand display at midnight.

A free shuttle bus service will run every 20 minutes from Mandurah Visitors Centre to the Mandurah railway station between 6pm and 1am and a wheelchair accessible bus will run every 40 minutes.

Road closures will be in effect along Mandurah Terrace from 5pm to 1am with water closures between 8.30pm and 9.30pm and 11.30pm and 12.30am.

The celebration is an alcohol and smoke free event and the City hopes people will leave their pets at home.
