Child sex charges dropped against Mandurah teacher

A MANDURAH teacher accused of committing child sex offences had charges against her dropped by the prosecution today as it was not in the public interest to pursue them.

The woman, who cannot be named, was charged with six counts of sexual penetration of a child over 16 under her authority and four counts of indecently dealing with a child over 16 under her authority.

The male student she was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with was 17 at the time of the alleged offences.

A letter was sent to parents from the private school at the beginning of this year, saying the school was investigating the alleged incident.

The mother of two resigned from her position as a teacher after she was accused of having a relationship with the student.
