CIRCUS Joseph Ashton celebrate their final performance for the year in Mandurah after a massive year of touring, awards, guest performers and the announcement of the opening of the Joseph Ashton Institute of Circus Arts.

The troupe’s final performances are in Hall Park on the western foreshore until November 27.

The performers, who have travelled all over the metropolitan area for the past year, welcomed Taylor Henderson from Washington for a year honing her craft, as well as winning a multitude of awards at this year’s Australian Circus Festival Awards and Australian Circus Industry Awards.

After this season, Circus Joseph will wrap up until the New Year.

n For 168 years, the Ashton family of acrobats, animal trainers, clowns and trapeze artists have entertained Australian audiences (it’s the oldest continuously- run circus in Australia), with shows selling fast every time they set up the big top.

n It takes three days to set up the big top.

n Academy Award-nominated director Baz Luhrmann hired Joseph Ashton as a technical advisor on the movie Moulin Rouge.
