THE City of Mandurah is calling for expressions of interest from qualified event managers to run this year’s Winter Wonderland.
The popular ice skating rink on the eastern foreshore last year was introduced to help local businesses when Mandurah Terrace was closed between Pinjarra Road and Smart Street Mall during construction of the new Mandurah Bridge.
The council resolved last year to outsource management of the event this year.
The event would attract additional visitors to Mandurah in winter and start during the last weekend of the July school holidays for between 16 and 23 days.
Councillors agreed to contribute up to $140,000 towards the event and establish a business reference group.
