THE City of Mandurah’s RoadWise committee continues to drive home road safety messages in partnership with police, emergency services personnel and other local groups.
The Roadwise group shared the road safety message as part of Fatality Free Friday to remind drivers to think about road safety and not have a single death in Australia for just one day.
Members work with the community to inform and educate about safe road use, safe roads, safe speeds and safe vehicles to reduce the number of accidents and their impact on the community.
The Mandurah RoadWise Advisory Group consists of volunteers with a passion for road safety and representatives from the Department of Education, School Drug Education and Road Aware, the City of Mandurah, Department of Transport, Road Traffic Police and Main Roads WA.
The community helped reach the goal by going online at www.fatalityfreefriday.com and signing the online pledge, or visiting a booth at the council offices promising they would always be fit to drive, stay focused on the road, scan the road ahead, keep a safe distance and drive to suit the conditions.
