THE City of Rockingham will host the ninth Seniors and Carers Expo to celebrate the contribution of seniors as part of the International Day of Older Persons.
More than 145 stalls will be available, providing information to visitors on the range of services, activities and products available to seniors and carers.
Rockingham Mayor Barry Sammels said the expo was a chance to highlight the important contribution older people made to the city to raise awareness of the issues surrounding ageing.
“Seniors make up a significant proportion of the community, about 16 per cent and the City highly values their contribution,’’ he said.
“Our older residents have helped forge the City into what it is today which is why the International Day of Older Persons is a great opportunity for the community to reflect on their efforts.
Curtin FM will also broadcast live from the event.
There will be free parking in the main car park with priority for visitors with ACROD permits.
Additional parking will be available in the overflow parking area behind the venue on Dixon Road Reserve.
A free wheelchair accessible shuttle bus will be available and residents can catch the 548, 549, 551 or 555 buses.
