Coolup: three hour rescue mission to save stranded kayaker

A kayaker who was stranded at the Murray River in Coolup has been rescued this afternoon.

A rescue mission was launched after 12pm when police, Water Police and St John Ambulance received reports of a stranded kayaker in the Murray.

Police said a plan was made to get the male kayaker in his 40s back to land.

By 3pm the kayaker was rescued.

He was assessed by St John Ambulance at the scene who determined he did not need to go to hospital.
