Coroner wants to examine body of slain Mandurah foreign fighter Jamie Bright

Rachel FennerMandurah Coastal Times

The WA coroner’s office has indicated it wants to examine the body of slain foreign fighter Jamie Bright.

A former sapper with the Australian Defence Force, Mr Bright left for Syria in December 2014, abandoning his job as a Mandurah painter and decorator.

Before the coroner’s office can examine Mr Bright’s body, it has to be navigated through a complex web of diplomatic strains and war-torn geography.

Jamie Bright was killed in northern Syria while fighting for the US-backed YPG.
