CARLA and Marty Fadelli desperately need $200,000 and are holding a Donat-athon in an effort to get it.
The Fadellis have been fostering for several years while raising their own two children, one of whom has an intellectual disability.
Carla, a qualified physcologist, and Marty, who owns a car restoration business, set about starting up Homestead For Youth to help at-risk youth. They run several programs to help children find restoration, healing and hope for the future.
They carry out therapy through working with horses, car restoration programs (teaching the boys skills while talking through life issues), art and singing, as well as encouraging self-esteem and creativity.
But their main objective has always been to find land where they could not only continue to run the programs but also set up a residential house.
Now they have found land in Pinjarra that is perfect and this Saturday they are holding a Homestead for Youth Donate-athon through social media to try raise funds to secure the property.
The couple have identified 60 hectares where they could expand their youth programs and roll out residential family care for youth.
Homestead for Youth is a not-for-profit organisation.
