Cyclist hit by car in Halls Head

A cyclist in his 70s has been knocked down after a crash with a car this morning in Halls Head.

Police received a call at 8.57am.

The crash was on the corner of McLarty Road and Old Coast Road.

St John Ambulance said a man in his 70s was taken to Peel Health Campus with minor injuries.

Police said there were reports the car had left the scene, but these have been unconfirmed by attending officers.

Cyclist Gabrielle Schiller-Brett died at the same intersection in 2016.

Inquiries are continuing.
