MANDURAH MLA David Templeman has congratulated Belswan Retirement Village’s Men’s Cave members for their generosity to the community this Christmas.

Belswan Retirement Village men established a wood working group three years ago and started out making wooden toys for local children from needy families.

Over the three years, they have donated their toys to many local community groups and organisations for distribution to needy families.

“This week these wonderful blokes donated dozens of specially made toys to our women’s refuge Pat Thomas House,’’ he said.

“These toys will go towards the children who will be staying at the refuge and will bring them and their families much joy.’’

Mr Templeman said he was honoured to join members and their families at a special Christmas afternoon tea.

“We are so lucky to have so many people in Mandurah who are so generous and compassionate about helping others who are doing it tough,’’ he said.

“The blokes from Belswan and their partners and families are wonderful people and their gifts will be gratefully accepted by the children that receive them.”
