Dawesville Bridge Swing to begin

THE Dawesville Bridge Swing starts tonight.

In a first for WA, residents and Mayor Rhys Williams will strap on a harness, take the plunge off the Dawesville Cut bridge and swing out above the channel.

A boat will pick up the swingers and take them ashore.

Participants have been raising money for charity.

Not-for-profit organisation Urban Descent was created by Terry Hewett to promote philanthropy and foster community connections.

“We seek courage and commitment from both individual and corporate participants to challenge themselves and make a difference in their community whilst sharing in a unique and exciting,” he said.

The Dawesville Bridge Swing will be a regular event and Mr Hewett encouraged people to come down and watch.

The registration is $150 and there is a minimum fundraising target of $750.
