A DAWESVILLE resident snapped an amazing picture of a shark lurking around The Cut, south of Mandurah, yesterday.

Margaret Hill, who took the photo, asked people to be aware the shark was in the area.

The shark, which appears to be either a dusky shark or a bronze whaler, was spotted swimming behind the yacht club in Dawesville.

Both species are potentially dangerous to humans as they frequent shorelines.

The photo has garnered more than 600 reactions since it was posted on a Mandurah Facebook page.

Ms Hill moved to Dawesville six months ago from NSW.

She said it was the first shark she has seen in the wild and was “fascinated”.
