Detectives investigating the assault of mother and toddler at Mandurah apartments

MANDURAH detectives are investigating the assault of a 20-year-old mother and her two-year-old child at a Mandurah apartment this morning (August 31).

About 4:50am, police were called to the apartments on Apollo Road where a mother and child had been assaulted by a man.

The 20-year-old mother from Falcon and her infant daughter were staying at the apartments.

They sustained minor injuries to their faces and hands.

Both were taken to hospital for examination.

The man was not at the apartments when police arrived.

He is described as 20 to 30-years-old, of a slim build, with dark possibly black hair that is short on sides and long on top.

He was unshaven, wearing checked long sleeve shirt, a dark t-shirt, light coloured jeans and black shoes with white soles.

Police have released a CCTV image of person that may be able to assist in the investigation.
