Arson Squad at suspicious house fire

ARSON squad is at the scene of a suspicious house fire in Mandurah this morning.

A fire was reported at the intersection of Sutton Street and Cooper Street at 9.19am.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said the fire caused $50,000 of damage.

“By 9.36am, the fire was contained to the front bedroom,” she said.

“The fire was under control by 9.38am and Western power is also on scene.”

The spokesperson said at this stage, they believed the fire may be suspicious.

There were eight appliances at the scene from Rockingham and Mandurah fire stations and volunteer services.
