EXCLUSIVE: first look inside Mandurah’s new David Jones store

MANDURAH’S highly anticipated David Jones store will be the first in WA to exhibit the fashion giant’s new contemporary interior.

Mandurah Coastal Times had an exclusive look inside the store today before merchandise would be fitted, scheduled to begin tomorrow.


WA Regional manager of David Jones stores Michael Moorgev said the Mandurah store would be offering all portfolios including kids, beauty, fashion, accessories, shoes and homewares.

“This is the first store in WA to have the new contemporary look and store format,” he said.

“It’s a 4000sq m footprint .

“Our customers will expect to see premium prestige fixtures and fittings, balancing a dynamic visual merchandise in the new Mandurah store.”

Mr Moorgev said the Mandurah David Jones store will also offer personalised services, traditionally a service strictly for CBD stores.

“We have two beauty rooms, bookable by appointments or on the day with some of the key brandings including Dermalogica, Estee lauder and L’Occitane.

“From a fashion perspective, personal shopping services with a designated personal shopping suite and dedicated staffing from a styles perspective will cater to Mandurah shoppers.

“Assisting customers with a complimentary design your wardrobe service will be an exciting addition to what’s seen normally only in our CBD store is now in the Peel Region store.”

Mr Moorgev said David Jones had a huge response from potential employees and 1400 people applied to work at David Jones.

“We have 47 staff members employed with the front line team for Mandurah but including the executive heads it totals to 55,” he said.

Mr Moorgev said everything was “on schedule” and the store would be set to open on its launch date March 22.

“On the morning of the launch, before we open our doors, we will have a barista here for all the customers ready and waiting in participation,” he said.

“The first 100 customers to walk through the doors will receive a David Jones gift bag.

“We will carry that excitement through the night and we will have a DJ and sparkling wine as well as special offers which we will lunch on Thursday and will go through to Sunday.”
