FIRE FIGHTERS had trouble accessing a house fire due to debris and vehicles in the front yard of a Falcon property this morning.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire at a Mistral Street house was called in at 2.39am.

“When the Mandurah crew attended, the home occupants were out of the house,” he said.

“A lot of rubbish and vehicles were in the front yard, causing an obstruction.

“There was a minor explosion due to gas bottles.”

The spokesman said the roof collapsed at 4.14am.

He said the fire was under control, but fire fighters still had trouble accessing the rear of the property.

The Mandurah career fire fighters, Mandurah and Falcon volunteer fire fighters, the Murdoch specialised equipment section and the DFES chaplain attended the scene.

A dollar value on the damage and the cause of the fire has not been determined yet. Investigations are continuing.
