A FALCON boy will ride from Mandurah to Perth on Saturday, May 7.

Laurence Hoolahan (7) is completing the bold challenge all in the name of charity and hoping to raise $3000.

A proportion of the funds raised will be donated to 1st Falcon Scouts, of which he is a member.

The rest of the funding is to be donated to the Ticket to Life Project in the Philippines, aims to integrate Pilipino street children into society through scouting.

The project reaches out to children that live without shelter on the street or in substandard housing classified as slums.

Laurence’s endeavour is already gaining a lot of traction within the community; at the Easter long weekend, Laurence placed donation tins on shop counters.

He also has a Go Fund Me page that has tallied more than $500, and has been training to prepare for his ride.

“I’ve been doing lots of training, the other day I did 50kms, it was hard work but I never gave up,” he said.

With a month left until the big ride, Laurence’s mother Lisa could not be prouder of her son.

“He is full of energy and has a true desire to make a difference in the world through hard work and determination,” she said.
