FORREST Highway is now open in both directions.
The gateway to the South West was closed for five days after fires swept through Waroona, Yarloop, Preston Beach and threatened Harvey.
All roads off Forest Highway between Forrestry Road and Dorsett Road remain closed, including Preston Beach Road.
Lake Clifton/Herron, Cookernup, Harvey and Waroona residents can now return to their properties through vehicle control points. It is not safe for people in Preston Beach to leave until final clearance of the road has been undertaken.
Motorists are asked to avoid non essential travel through the area. If travel is necessary, ensure petrol tanks are full before departure.
A bushfire watch and act remains for the area east of Waroona, Hamel, Harvey townsite, Cookernup and Yarloop and surrounding areas. It doesn’t include the Waroona townsite.
A bushfire advice has been issued for people west of Forrest Highway to the coast from Dorsett Road to Binningup.
A bushfire advice remains in place for people north of the Waroona townsite and south of the Harvey townsite.
