WHILE most students will relax and enjoy school holidays, Tom Cronin will spend a week attending the prestigious Future Doctors Program at the Harry Perkins Medical Research Institute in Nedlands.

The Foundation Christian College student will participate in five days of intensive medical mentoring learning how to use a variety of medical instruments, scrub up for surgery, how to suture a wound and get emergency medicine training.

College Principal Andrew Newhouse said Tom was a dedicated student who has dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon.

“Tom has always shown a commitment to his schooling and since deciding to pursue a medical career, Foundation Christian College is keen to help him achieve his dreams,” he said.

“We understand Tom is one of 29 students selected for the annual program and was chosen from a very competitive group of applicants.”

“While an internationally run program; here in Australia, it is only conducted in Perth by the founder of the program Doctor Anton Scheepers, so we recognize this is a very special opportunity for Tom.”
