FOUNDATION Christian College students worked their way around the world without leaving the classroom.

Year 8 students participated in the Amazing Race as part of their Big Ideas program.

Students had to collaborate in groups, completing tasks using skills in maths, geography, history, cultural studies and sport.

School principal Andrew Newhouse said the collaboration was great for students to build upon skills such as leadership, critical and creative thinking, research and meeting deadlines.

Big Ideas co-ordinator Aly Hill said students would visit North and South America, Africa, Europe, Asia and finish back in Australia using geography skills to create maps, identifying each country’s capital, historical aspects of the country, national sport, flag and mascot.
