Girl stabbed during fight at Coodanup high school

A STUDENT will appear in Mandurah Children’s Court after she allegedly stabbed another girl at a high school in Coodanup.

Details have emerged around the alleged stabbing with eyewitnesses saying the girls were fighting over a boy.

Police will allege, around 1:50pm on Thursday June 2, a fight took place between two students.

During the fight one of the students received a laceration and puncture wound to her hip area.

A 15-year-old Port Kennedy girl allegedly brought a kitchen knife with her to school.

The victim was taken to Peel Health Campus for treatment before being transferred to Fiona Stanley Hospital to ensure organs were not damaged in the attack.

The 15-year-old girl was charged with unlawful wounding in circumstances of aggravation and being armed or pretending to be armed in a way that may cause fear.

She is due to appear in court on June 20.
