Peel Development Commission chairman Paul Fitzpatrick said the impressive improvements at the gardens had been achieved by volunteers and supporters.

The aim at the gardens is to create an all-person accessible garden environment for all members of the community to enjoy.

City of Mandurah funded the gardens with Foodbank WA as partners by $15,000 over a three-year period to deliver the Healthy Community Connect Mandurah program.
