Greenfields man (19) charged after allegedly causing $15,000 worth of damage to windows around Mandurah

MANDURAH Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man who allegedly caused $15,000 worth of damage to windows around the Mandurah area.

Police said a number of windows in and around the central business district were damaged on Sunday morning, February 4.

Police said there was no evidence of how the damage was done but claimed the man may have kicked the windows or threw a shopping trolley at them.

Police used City of Mandurah and local businesses’ CCTV footage and obtained a description of a suspect from a local liquor premises.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged on Friday at his home in Greenfields and released on strict bail conditions.

Mandurah Police officer-in-charge Stephen Thompson said it was fantastic work conducted between police and the local business community.

“We had great assistance from the public,” he said.
