Growing Together: shop at Mandurah Forum and help your school thrive

Jill BurgessMandurah Coastal Times

Simply spend at any Mandurah Forum store before October 24 to receive a gold token and choose which school you would like to donate it to by placing it in the donation box located outside the Bank of Queensland at the centre.

The four schools competing for the top prize are Mandurah, Greenfields and Meadow Springs primary schools and Living Waters Lutheran College.

By donating tokens during the Growing Together initiative, shoppers can make a real difference to these schools.

Projects include a new garden for students to grow their own fruit and vegetables at Mandurah Primary School, a new nature (outside and equipment-free) playground at Greenfields Primary School, so students can get back to playing outside, an outside obstacle course and gym for community and student use at Meadow Springs Primary School and a nature playground for kindergarten students at Living Waters Lutheran College.

The school that receives the most tokens will win the first prize of $10,000, second placed school $2000 and the final two $1000 each.

Mandurah Forum manager Jacqueline McKenzie said the centre was committed to investing in the community.

“The Growing Together initiative will make a real difference to four local primary schools by supporting a project the school has identified as making a positive difference to the students,’’ she said.
