A WOMAN has pleaded guilty to obtaining a financial benefit from Centrelink to the tune of $45,000.

The prosecutor for the Commonwealth said Mary-Ellen Hughes failed to inform Centrelink that she had obtained full-time work between 2011 and 2012, falsely receiving a carer's allowance.

They also claimed she under declared her income from November 2012 to November 2013 in order to receive Newstart allowance.
