IF your children are being educated by Deepa Reilly, they are in good hands.
The Great Beginnings Halls Head educator is a finalist in G8 Education’s national Standout Educator Awards Program.
Chosen from 10,000 educators across Australia, Ms Reilly was nominated by her parents and peers for her outstanding contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of children in her care.
Centre manager Evelyn Houghton said the recognition was testament to her dedication to providing superior learning and development outcomes for local children.
“The Standout Educator Awards highlight the special contribution educators like Deepa make to the lives of children in her care,’’ she said.
“To be selected is not only reward for her dedication to providing quality early childhood education and care, it also emphasises the special bond she has with the children entrusted in her care.”
Now in its second year, the program provides recognition for the important role early childhood educators play.
More than 3000 nominations were received this year, with parent nominations highlighting everything from their educator’s teaching techniques to their personal attributes and willingness to go over and beyond to support children and their families.
Ms Reilly said it was a privilege to be able to work with children each day.
“They teach me so much,’’ she said.
She now goes in the running to be named one of six national finalists to be announced this Wednesday.
