A 66-year-old Halls Head man will appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court today charged with child exploitation offences.
In May 2016, the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) started an investigation in response to child exploitation images being posted on the internet.
As part of the JACET investigation, detectives executed a search warrant on Wednesday, July 20 at a Halls Head house, where they seized a computer and electronic storage devices.
It will be alleged the devices belonged to the man and that analysis of the devices identified images of child exploitation material.
The man has been charged with possession of child exploitation material and using a carriage service to distribute child exploitation material.
The JACET is a taskforce which brings together the Australian Federal Police and Western Australia Police to combat online child exploitation, as part of a collaborative and coordinated national platform for policing agencies to address the abhorrent activity associated with child exploitation.
