Halls Head man claims $1.2m Lotto prize
A MAN from Halls Head has come forward as Western Australia’s latest millionaire, with his ticket turning into $1,279,122.

The man works in the mental health care sector and bought the Saturday Lotto ticket at Halls Head Newsagency.

“The funny thing is the other week I checked my ticket and got excited when the bell went off, but then I felt annoyed because I only won a small amount,” he said.

“Turns out when the bell didn’t go off this time, it meant I had won a lot more.”

The man in his 50s said he plans to take some time out with his wife to ensure they make the right decision with their winnings.

He said he enjoyed playing Lotterywest games and the fact it helps to raise money towards important WA community groups.

“I know it goes to community, so I don’t mind playing, we see it as a donation,” he said.

Meanwhile, the search for a Division One winner from Success continues, with the ticket worth $672,193 from the February 23 draw, still at large.

The ticket was sold from Gateways News & Lottery Centre.
