A HALLS Head mum said she enjoyed extra crayfish and prawns this Christmas after winning $100,000 from a $20 scratch ticket.

The top prize winning ticket was sold at Halls Head Newsagency just before Christmas.

The said she had gone to the shops to buy chocolate chips for her kids’ pancakes and thought she’d try her luck with a scratchie.

“Needing those choc chips rewarded us big time,” she said.

She scratches the tickets during quiet time in bed when the kids have gone to sleep and said she started screaming when she realised she’d won.

“I never thought I was going to win that much, it was the biggest shock of all to win the top prize,” she said.

“The entire shopping centre heard us scream when we double checked the ticket at the newsagency.

“We had a very enjoyable Christmas.”

The winner said her prize money will pay off some of her mortgage, pay credit card bills, buy a new bed and let her take a holiday to Broome.

“We’re going to sit on a beach and relax for once,” she said.

“I could never have planned for this; this prize has given us the ability to get ahead in life.

“To have our load lightened is amazing.”
