Home-made ‘bomb’ found in sand dunes near Madora Bay

RESIDENTS reported finding a home-made bomb in sand dunes near Karinga Road in Madora Bay on January 6.

Senior Sergeant Stephen Thompson said the item included a canister and some wiring.

He said the item was not a viable explosive item and was not dangerous to the public. The item was destroyed.

Sen Sgt Thompson said if people saw anything suspicious they should stay away, not touch the item and call police on 131 444.
